In 2024 I was contacted by Oli Sykes, the frontman for Bring Me The Horizon, one of the world’s biggest metal bands. Having seen some of my work, Oli hired me to create live screen lyric visuals for the band’s largest ever tour from South America to the US and Europe.

I dived headfirst into the opportunity, hiring two close friends and designing a suite of style frames for the three tracks we’d be visualising. The visuals would be projected by PixelMap Studios onto two massive IMAG screens either side of the band, and were intended to support the on-stage effects.

Once approved I then created the final visuals from these style frames, focusing on the typography, the flow and matching every beat to the music and themes of each song. The final 4K motion pieces reflected the sci-fi dystopian world that BMTH had created across their discography, bringing together UI, technology and anime references in a cohesive visual style.

Shadow Moses is an anthem about rage, a battle cry for the lost and forgotten. I imagined it as a march across a war torn landscape, the beat of the drums, the taste of metal and blood. The blackletter typography conjures medieval brutality, clashing with the glowing heads up display to create visuals that transcend a single moment in time.

N/A is a song that Oli wrote to himself during one of his darkest periods, struggling with addiction and a lack of self worth. However it also comes with a levity, a reminder that it’s fleeting, like a note in the margin of a diary. I built upon this, shifting the lyrics around like thoughts colliding in Oli’s head, with a stark inversion in the middle as the crowd joins in to remind him that despite his success, he’s still a fucking knobhead.

Follow You is often considered to be the most romantic of all Bring Me The Horizon’s repertoire. However beneath that romantic sentiment is a message about the danger of attachment. How blind obsession can lead us astray. The visuals therefore appear alongside religious symbols and blinding light, like a text written right before the fated arrival of a prophet.

It’s been incredible to see the reactions to the visuals we created in stadiums and venues around the world. It remains one of my proudest achievements.
